To date, in St. Kitts and Nevis there is not a single confirmed case of the coronavirus COVID-19. However, the country sees that the virus is spreading rapidly and affects more and more countries around the world. Therefore, surveillance and proactive health services were strengthened in their air and seaports, as well as throughout the Federation.

At the port where cruise ships arrive, each ship with passengers is checked. If at least one has flu symptoms, then he/she should not go on land.

All passengers who have been in China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Italy, Japan, and Iran in the last 14 days will have to provide a travel history, virus infection and contact information. Anyone traveling from/to these countries is encouraged not to visit Saint Kitts and Nevis. If a person came from the above countries, then (s)he must pass the border check and quarantine, if necessary.

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis reserves the right to refuse entry to foreigners who have been to the above countries in the past 14 days.

Following a WHO official statement that an outbreak of coronavirus is an emergency, the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis advises citizens and residents not to visit the countries listed above until WHO has provided all the information regarding COVID-19.

In schools, in the workplace and in society, various awareness-raising and education campaigns are held on the coronavirus.

What needs to be done every day for prevention? It is imperative to follow simple hygiene rules: washing hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based disinfectant, disinfecting surfaces and avoiding contact with sick respiratory diseases.
