Dominica Establishes Bilateral Relations With Afghanistan

The Commonwealth of Dominica and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan signed a joint communiqué last week in New York. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Loreen Ruth Bannis-Roberts, Permanent Representative of Dominica, and her colleague Ambassador Adela Raz, representing their governments as they agreed to strengthen relations between the two countries.

“One of the areas that the communiqué sought to strengthen was the cooperation between the countries regarding the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With both nations witnessing the impact of the climate crisis, the signing included trading practices and expertise on building resilience. Additionally, the meeting demonstrated the countries' commitment to developing friendly relations as stated in the UN charter." - write prnewswire.
