Hollywood Has Its Eye On Saint Kitts and Nevis

The small Caribbean country of Saint Kitts and Nevis has recently become not only a country with excellent resorts but also an opportunity for relaxation. Hollywood chooses the island for filming.

The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) recently signed a groundbreaking multi-movie production agreement with MSR Media to shoot multiple films over a three-year period. So far, three films have been filmed on the island: One Year Off, Assailant, and A Week in Paradise.

Hon. Mark Brantley, the Nevisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, greeted the cast: " I hope that [the cast] will enjoy all that our beautiful island has to offer not just for work but also to recharge and rejuvenate after the hustle and bustle of Hollywood."

Filming not only makes the island popular but also creates new jobs. For example, 80 full-time jobs were created and 40 crew members were hired locally.

An Acting Academy was also opened on the island, which provides skills to prepare for paid film roles.
