To Seychelles Without Quarantine: Visitors Are Free To Enjoy In Certified Hotels

Seychelles is reopening to tourists from all over the world, with the exception of South Africa.

Under the new rules, tourists visiting the islands will need a negative PCR test result 72 hours before arriving in the country.

Although there is no quarantine, Foreign and Tourism Minister Sylvestre Radegonde said at a press conference that visitors must nevertheless comply with health measures taken, which means that wearing masks, disinfecting hands, and socially and physically distancing are required.

As for the ban on entry to citizens from South America, such a decision has so far been made to protect the European market.

“The problem is the European market. We are already on a red list in England associated with flights to South Africa. So we are in discussions with the British authorities to better understand what their problem is and how to resolve this. Once resolved we will open to everyone including South Africa,” the minister explained.

So far, out of 700 licensed residential homes, 535 are certified for COVID-19. Accommodation can be booked in them. As for moving around the islands, there are no restrictions. People are free to travel on yachts without a crew, as they used to be.

Also, the government is negotiating to finally make a decision on the opening and acceptance of tourists arriving on liners.
