Dominica: More Airlines to Fly and Two Hotels Certify as COVID-19 Safe
/Dominica opened its borders to citizens from July 15, and from August 7 it welcomes tourists. Following a recent briefing, Colin Piper, Deputy Border Opening Coordinator and Director of Tourism, announced that more airlines will fly to Dominica.
Silver Airways will operate in the country Thursday and Saturday from San Juan, and Air Antilles will fly daily from Barbados with a connection from Saint Lucia to Dominica, Mr. Piper said. Air Antilles will also operate from Point-a-Pitre to Dominica.
Tourists should not worry about safety on the island, because "thirteen properties have been issued [a] COVID-19 certificate of approval." And two hotels, Cabrits Resort and Spa Kempinski Dominica and Secret Bay, approved for participation in the Citizenship by Investment Program are also on this list. There are currently 415 COVID-certified rooms on the island, with more coming soon.
All arriving tourists must complete a health questionnaire and take a PCR test (three days before arrival), the negative results of which must be uploaded. A health notification can then be received, a copy of which must be sent to the Port of Dominica Health Officer upon arrival.
